2022 Fall Coconut Cup Washington Ping-Pong Open will be held on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 at the Great Washington Metro Area.
All teams will be divided into two divisions according to the average rating of the best two players in each team. Division A – Top 2 players average 1800 & above must register for; Division B – all other teams. The competitions for Division B and Division A will be held at Maryland Table Tennis Center, 18761-Q North Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg, MD 20879. Please see the attached for the registration forms.
As before, Division A's & B's competition is team-based, with 3 to 5 players each team and three out of five matches each game, limiting 3 players and up to 5 players from each Division A and B team for each game. The Coconut Cup starts with round robin in groups and then play-off.
Hainan Association, the organizer, is trying to create this opportunity for non-professional table tennis players, regardless gender and age, in Washington area to meet, to absorb more public attention to table tennis, and to raise some money to help students and school libraries in rural China or USA.
Here are some additional notes,
1. The participation agreement must be signed by each player at the front desk, so please read it first.
2. 3 - 5 members per team for Division A or B
3. Any team can register for Division A. It will be canceled if there are less than 5 teams.
4. Only can the teams with average rating under 1800 from Top 2 of their members register for Division B.
5. Single match limits 32. Players who register for A or B may register for Single as well.
6. The time may be 9:00 am-9:00 pm and the final time be announced when we have the schedules ready. Please be in time. If your team is late, your team will lose one single match for each 10 minutes. That means, if your team is 30 minutes late, your team is 0:3 to the competitor.
7. The organizer will provide 3-star Butterfly/Double Happiness balls and the standard tables will be provided by the club centers. You may come to the center and check it ahead.
8. The organizer will help to purchase lunch if you need.
9. We will finalize the schedules after we get all teams registered.

众所周知，乒乓球是中华第一国球，乒乓球运动更是一项国民运动。大华府海南同乡会“椰树杯”乒乓球公开赛自创办至今已历十五载，一直秉承“以球会友，重在参与，强身健体，筹集善款，助学济难”为宗旨，坚持“友谊第一，比赛第二”的原则，以促进球友交流为己任，被誉为华府乒坛不容错过的年度盛会。
“椰树杯”华府乒乓球公开赛自创办以来，众多乒乓球爱好者们的积极参与，中国大使馆和喜欢乒乓球运动的商业组织与华人社区团体的持续赞助和热情关注一直让我们倍感光荣！我们更有幸邀得华盛顿同乡会联合会作为我们的协办单位支持这次比赛。在组织者和参与者的共同努力下，椰树杯的社会影响不断扩大，已逐渐成为华府地区一项乒坛传统赛事，吸引了大华府地区的广大乒乓球爱好者和球迷们踊跃参赛和观赛。各支参赛队伍中，既有初生牛犊不怕虎的初学者，也有人小球技强的少年选手，更有前国家队队员及大运会运动员等职业选手；既有以健身为目的乒乓球爱好者，也有持“以球交友，以赛会友”为初衷的运动者。参赛选手包括马里兰州，维州和华盛顿特区等乒乓球俱乐部的高水平球友，更让不少大华府地区的各路英雄豪杰慕名而来。除此之外，大华府地区众多校友会和同乡会也成为了赛事的又一批新生力量，比赛竞争更显激烈，赛事人气越来越旺，关注度越来越高。
“椰树杯”乒乓球公开赛还成功吸引了包括东南亚、中东、南美洲、欧洲等来自五湖四海的国际友人齐聚一堂，逐渐成为一项国际赛事！与此同时，“椰树杯”乒乓球公开赛除了促进体育文化交流之外，也积极为慈善事业贡献一份力量。大华府海南同乡会将每届比赛所筹集的善款捐赠给最需要的地方，所及之处曾包括国内的寒门学子、汶川地震灾区的受灾者、海地地震、日本海啸、甘肃地震的受灾者，海南家乡台风受灾的地区以及新冠疫情伊始募捐分发医疗用品等等。
